The Senior Unit

We hope that everyone enjoyed their Easter break and enjoys the student holiday break ahead.   Kitchen  Thursday we will be condensing the kitchen cooking into 2 one hour blocks before recess (9:00 - 10:00 & 10:00 - 11:00) This is due to the students being involved in a cyber safety session after recess. This week the students will begin cooking some food for camp. Volunteers are more than welcome to come and help the cooking as usual.  Camp Camp is in the horizon and will be upon us before we know it. This week we aim to show and tell some of the attractions that we will visit in preparation. This week we will also be sending out a what to bring list for the students to check off as they pack. Spelling Words ending in ‘cious’ Literacy - Holes This week to complete the work on our class novel Holes, we will be watching the movie. The purpose of watching the movie is to make comparisons between the written story and the movie, as well as trying to understand why there are differenc

For those who getaway over the long weekend, we pray that you are all safe.  Here is the news from the classroom: Spelling This week is List 10 - ‘ci’ for the ‘sh’ sound As we reform our Spelling, we have made a few adjustments about the setup and how we go about it. Over the next few weeks, leading into camp, we will be getting students used to the new practice and during this time we will be focussing on Word Study activities in class with the Weekly Spelling list attached to those tasks. There will still be an expectation to complete word lists and sentences and anything not completed during class time will need to be completed for homework.
