Monday Memos Week 6 Term 2

Well after a busy but valuable week in the nations capital, we come back to school to pull our sleeves up and get solve work done leading into the mid year break. Here are the points of interest for this week... Recovery still in process: Angie is still out of action with her broken ankle and our prayers and thoughts are with her. Just like the week before camp, this week we are joined in the Senior Unit by Courtney Wood. She has certainly gotten to know the students well and injects great enthusiasm in the classroom as well as building positive relationships with the students. If you see her around, please make her feel welcome.  Spelling: List 13 this week, looking at double letters. Assembly:  We are lead to believe that the Senior Unit is on Assembly next Monday. Our assembly will cover the different facets of Camp. Canberra weather has been fresh but beautiful and it seems that everyone is getting the photos through both Seesaw and or on Facebook. Speaking of Seesaw, it has been wonderful to see so many comments from parents in response to the students sharing their experiences. I know many of the students have really appreciated receiving those messages, so on behalf of them I will say a big thank you.  Government House - Not a bad looking ponderosa.  Anyway, here are the rest of the updates: Whole School Update…   COVID Check-In  Just a reminder to all Immanuel parents and visitors to check in at Immanuel School Gawler using our QR Code which is displayed at each entrance gate and classroom. Monday Memos Week 4Term 2

In the Senior Unit, the excitement is building as we get closer to Friday’s testing and possibly camp. Please check your emails for the latest information about camp. Here is the other memos from the Senior Unit. Caitlin Gogel - it is Caitlin’s last week with us. If you cross paths with her this week, please wish her well. The students have enjoyed the lesson ideas she has brought to the Senior Unit over the last few weeks. Spelling -  We are looking at List 12 this week and concentration on the blend ‘eous’ Loyal Creatures -  Our class novel this term is Loyal Creatures, a book written by Morris Gleitzman, that delves into the relationship between a boy and his horse and the upheaval of World War One. It’s a real busy time in and around the Senior Unit at the moment.  A New Face: We welcome Caitlin Gogel to the Senior Unit. If you see her, please say hi. She is doing a second year university teachers placement here with us and will spend another two weeks here after already being with us over the last week. Spelling:  Spelling this week is using list 11 and concentration on the ‘cious’ blend Canberra Camp (12 days away) Camp is only 12 days away, so there is plenty to get ready. Monday Memos Week 2 Term 2

Week 2 is here and we still aren't sure where week 1 disappeared to. Preservice Teacher joining us This week we welcome Caitlin Gogel to the school. Caitlin is in her second year of a teaching degree at Tabor. She will be joining us for the next three weeks. We hope she enjoys her stay as she continues her learning journey. Spelling  This week is List 10 and concentrating on the phoneme 'ci' to make a 'sh' sound. For example... 'beneficiary'. Canberra Camp Camp is getting close. Last week we emailed out the itinerary as it stands right now for the camp. In the next week we hope to send you our final information email. This will include exact times of departure and a 'What to bring list'. There will also be a few extra notes that will need filling out and returned before heading on our way.
