Spelling Group 2



The Core Spelling Lists for the year are all here. The lists are posted so that students and parents have access to them here. If students are away, they can still manage to start/complete their spelling for the week.

As part of homework, students are asked to complete their spelling activities. Students will begin these tasks during Monday's spelling lesson. 
The tasks for spelling each week are:
One word origin - highlight one spelling word and highlight its history
Four dictionary meanings
Five sentences
(This is based on students having a 6-8 word list)

Four lists written out. The lists are as follows:
1. Weekly List
2. Syllables (eg. u/ni/form)
3. Sounds (eg. u-n-i-f-or-m)
4. Vowels (eg. uniform)

Exhibition Week Welcome to Exhibition presentation week. Everything for this week is all about the Exhibition. The space is starting to take shape and finishing touches are on the go. Students are encouraged to wear a costume or uniform befitting their groups theme or they should be wearing formal uniform for the evening.  The Exhibition is being held in the Warrinthi Basement from  6.00 - 8pm. At 6:00, we ask that guests congregate on the grass outside the Warrinthi Basement. The official opening will be at 6:30 after which you will be invited to look through the exhibits. A sausage sizzle will be provided for Parents and Caregivers and drinks will be available. Monday Memos Week 10 Term 3

As we make our way into the final week of Term 3, students are looking forward to a couple weeks off after a very busy term. Hear some intel into what is going on right now: Exhibition Students are at a stage of the process where they are asking their own questions and are beginning to look at researching. As the week progresses we hope that students begin to make contact with people and organisations to gain primary information to bolster their research.  Please keep the evening of November 8 free. We will be presenting our Exhibition that evening. More information will come out at the start of next term. Summer Uniforms As students start to wear their formal summer uniforms, can we please make sure that sizes fit and hem lines are at an appropriate length.  Lion King Excursion We look forward to this experience and hope the students find entertaining. Monday Memos Week 8 Term 4

Graduation is a week and a half away, so I pose this question to you… what type of graduation parent do you think you’ll be this year? Are you: A) a box of tissues type B) a yell out a comment type C) a ‘oh where did the time go’ type  D) a can’t believe they got this far type E) a you can’t have too many photos type F) all the above G) none of the above H) we will wait and see iPads iPads are being collected for decommissioning this Thursday, please make sure that they are fully charged on arrival at school that day and all wanted files have been backed up elsewhere.
