Monday Memos Week 9 Term 2

The final play before the half time break, still a few things to do before we get to have a rest...

Tuesday: Stephanie Alexander Kitchen/Mathematics Shopping Excursion

We will be heading off to Coles in the morning to get our ingredients together for the Street Food evening Wednesday. Students will be walking to and from Coles for this excursion and accompanied by school staff.

Wednesday: Street Food evening

Students will spend the day preparing for the evening and head home at the normal time. They are expected to be back at school by 6pm to begin preparing (the German group will be serving).

For the evenings catering and space, please remember that each student is restricted to two guests. Drinks will be available also during the evening.

Students are not being supplied food during the evening, they are here to serve their guests. Please make sure they have had some tea prior to getting here.

Thursday:

Clean up from the night before and reflect.

Friday:

Prepare for the holidays and complete unfinished work and reflections. This includes the Spelling test for List 15.

And here’s the other news from around the grounds...

Semester 1 Reports

  • These will be sent home with students on Fri 25 June in a sealed envelope along with PLP’s and music tuition reports.  Please open at home and share the results with your child.

Learning Support Teacher

  • Recently we advertised for a Learning Support teacher to join our team. This is a new position and recognises the commitment we have to supporting all students (and especially those who need some extra help).   We received a pleasing number of excellent applications and went through an interview process. The panel determined that the best applicant was Mrs Marianne Roberts and so we have appointed her to this new position effective Semester 2 this year.
  • We have managed to appoint Miss Tania Wain to fill the Year 1 position for the remainder of the year. Tania has been a long serving teacher at Immanuel and returns after teaching overseas for the last 2 years. Certainly, we are excited to have Tania return to our school and many of you will know her from her time with us previously and we are equally excited to be able to increase (our already high) commitment to the area of Learning Support.
