Tuesday Memos Week 8 Term 2

Not far now to the mid year break and a well earned rest for many. It has been a busy time over the last four weeks and we are not quite finished with that yet. Still to come is the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden ‘Street Food’ Evening. (More information on that below.)

Street Food Night (Celebrating the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program)

While we haven’t been able to get you the details earlier, we hope you have been able to mark on your calendar Wednesday evening of the 23rd of June.

On that evening, students will be able to have 2 guests each attend. (This number is due to catering and size of the area available area)

We ask that students promptly arrive at 6:00pm so that they can do their final food preparation for serving. Students will be presenting their food from their team stands that also represent their culture of study for LOTE. 

The evening will commence at 6:00pm with a complimentary pretzel to kick off proceedings and drinks will be available from our drinks bar. At 6:30pm, we will have an official welcome and entrees will be available from then. At 7:00pm, mains will be available and following that at 7:30pm desserts will be available.

Each guest will have three vouchers (1x entree, 1x main, 1x dessert) for the evening to be exchanged for food from the street food stalls. 

Spelling

List 15 this week will actually be over the next two weeks. This is due to a short week this week and also the Street Food Night next week.

Whole School Update…

 

After School Supervision

  • When school concludes at the end of the day we have a number of staff on Yard Duty, but their primary role is to supervise gates and children exiting
  • If children are ‘playing’ after school it must be under the direct supervision of their parents/ caregivers
  • The period after school provides a great opportunity for parents / caregivers to connect and catch up which is terrific, however the direct care and supervision of children remaining after school (who are playing) is the responsibility of their parents/caregivers

  • Thank you to all our performers and to Mr Hueppauff – it was a great night!   

 

Building Project 

  • The following classroom location changes have now been made
    • Year 6’s have relocated to the East Terrace house 
    • Year 2’s have relocated to the Senior Unit building 
    • Foundation Blasche have relocated to the former photocopier room 
    • Year 3 Rollings / Tilbrook have relocated to the Foundation Blasche Room 

 

iGOSH reminders 

·         Vac Care online bookings close this Friday 18 June at 2pm. Consent and Confirmation letters come home next Monday 21 June, please complete, sign and return ASAP.  

·         Account reminders come home tomorrow. Accounts need to be paid to access the Vac Care program. Accounts should not be more than 60 days overdue.

  • Please remember to check in at Immanuel School Gawler using our QR Code which is displayed at each entrance gate and classroom. 
  • There is a paper based check in form in the office for those who cannot check in using a mobile device.

Graduation is a week and a half away, so I pose this question to you… what type of graduation parent do you think you’ll be this year? Monday Memos Week 9 Term 4

Here we are, a couple days left. It would be interesting to know how all the students are feeling. I do know that some can’t wait to move on and some don’t want to leave. As always, many are probably feeling a little bit from column A and column B.  Reports Reports to go out tomorrow.  Pizza Lunch Tomorrow Tomorrow, as a gift to the students, Tayla and I have organised a pizza lunch for students. Monday Memos Week 7 Term 4

Creeping closer and closer to the end of the year, but the work doesn’t stop…  Academics   The big ticket item in class right now is responding to the Ted Hughes novel The Iron Man. The Playberry literacy routines will continue through to the end of the year and in maths we are currently playing around with algebra and problem solving.  End of Year Guff As a part of the student graduation, we are after a photo of each child from when they commenced school (Foundation). If your child commenced at a different school, we would love it if you could email us a digital copy so we can add it to the presentation.  For the graduation evening, it is expected that students are wearing formal summer uniform.
