Monday Memos Week 6 Term 3

Coding Camp Presentation
Today students were presented an educational play on IT safety. The content covered many aspects of online safety including password protection, appropriate use and understanding the negatives of gaming.
School Photos
The Year 6 class is photographed first at 9:00am on Wednesday morning. Please make every effort to be punctual that day other students might miss their class/graduation group photographs.
UOI - How the World Works
Our current assignment sees students looking into renewable sources of energy. For this assignment, students have researched using a Frayer Model organiser and are presenting diagrams on the energy source as well as
UOI - Exhibition
We will begin the process of looking into the theme of Sharing the Planet and brainstorming possible ideas next week. The final presentation will be delivered on the Wednesday evening of Week 4 next term. This is an evening for the school community to come together and celebrate the learning journey of the Year 6 students.
Concert Costumes
Please see to students costumes as soon as you can.
o They are Villagers set in Arabia.
o Some kids could be pick pocketers, Musicians, Market sellers, buyers etc..
o Something like picture
o Girls could wear simple long dress, baggy floaty pants, shirt.
o Could be just some pants with a shirt. Add a vest or apron.

Term 3 Week 6 Whole School Update…
· Today all classes attended a Live Performance from Brainstorm Productions called “Zanna and the Lost Code”. This exciting theatre experience engaged students in conversations about values, respect and responsibility, inspiring them to build safer and more positive online experiences.
Learning Conferences
· Tuesday 29 August 3.45pm - 7.30pm. This is the last date offered for parents to meet with teachers.
· Bookings have now closed. Please contact your teacher direct if you need any further meetings.
School Photo Day Wednesday 30 August
· Photographers will start promptly at 9am
· Students in Yr 4-6 will wear their full formal uniform (with green jumper)
· Students in F-3 will wear their sports uniform (with rugby jumper)
· All envelopes should by now all be returned to the front office, but if you haven't yet done so please return it ASAP.
· Sibling orders (envelopes) are available from the front office. The online ordering platform for these close Tues 29/8
· The Photographer will probably return one day late next week to take individual photos of those who were absent.
· Photos will be processed and ready to go out to families early in Term 4.

Father’s Day Stall
· Friday 1 September – coordinated by our lovely Class Carers
· Children can being in some coins or small notes to purchase a gift for their dad (or special person). Gifts range from $1 to $5.
· All students will be taken by class to the stall over the course of the morning.
· Happy Father’s Day on Sunday 3 September to our dads, grandpas and special people.
After School Sports Expressions of Interest Form
· Going out via Operoo today is information about the After School Sports programs (Basketball, Netball, Futsal, Cricket) on offer for next term / next year. If your child has an interest please respond promptly. Click on this link https://groups.operoo.com/forms/1117541/submissions/new
No Dog Policy
· Just a reminder about Immanuel’s “No Dog Policy” – that is dogs are not allowed on school grounds during the school day (7am to 6pm)
Mobile Phone Policy
· Immanuel Lutheran school has a policy for Students bringing mobile phones to school. Any student who brings a personal mobile device to school must have a completed form (available on this link https://groups.operoo.com/forms/1076779/submissions/new) which is signed by a parent/caregiver stating the reason why the device needs to come to school. (A mobile device includes smart watches or any other device that can send and receive phones calls, messages or data.)
· Upon arrival at school the student must place the device in the appropriate container in the front office. (For students in iGOSH arriving before the office opens this will be managed by iGOSH staff.)
· At the end of day the student will collect the device from the front office
ICAS Competitions 2023
· ICAS Mathematics competitions will be held this week for applicable students in years 2-6.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
- The Premier’s Reading Challenge finishes on Friday 8 September. Remember this year there are two challenges – the 12 book challenge and the 20 book challenge. We have 17 days of reading left.
School Concert- Upper Primary (4,5 & 6)
- This year’s concert is on Thursday 14th September.
- Matinee performance at 1:30pm
- Evening performance at 6:30pm
- Parents, families & friends will be welcome to attend. There is no cost for a ticket but seats must be reserved. Stay tuned this week via Operoo for details and how to book tickets.

- Friday 15 September
- iGOSH will be open for those families needing OSHC. Please logon to Spike Booking App and book in (by Mon 11 Sept)

iGOSH
Booking App Reminders
· You can only book Permanent Bookings on the App. These are bookings made 2 days (48 hours) before the required session.
· Casual Bookings are bookings made with less than 2 days (48 hours) notice. These casual bookings can only be made by contacting the service.
· Bookings made through the App automatically link with the Electronic Sign in
· Casual Bookings will still be recorded on paper copy. Students cannot be booked in at last minute or just turn up as bookings and staff ratio are capped.
· Cancellations can be made up to 12 hours before the session for no charge to apply. Cancellations with less than 12 hours notice are charged at the full rate. Cancellations with more than 12 hours notice can all be made through the App
New payment bank account
· Please make note of the change of bank account details for payment of iGOSH fees. This was on last weeks invoice. There will be a change over period where both accounts will receive payments. But if you could please begin using the new details that would be appreciated.
Pupil Free Day
· Friday 15 September iGOSH will be open. If you require this day, please book via the Spike Booking App. Bookings will close Monday 11 September for this day. We will have activities on offer, more information to come in the coming weeks.
October Vac Care
· The program will be out this week. A paper copy will come home and it will also be on Operoo.
· Bookings will open on the New Spike Booking App on Friday 1st September
· Bookings will be open for around 2 weeks.
· There have been changes to cancelations and casual bookings because of the new App. These will be mentioned on the program that comes home later this week.
