Monday Memos Week 9

Welcome to Week 9, 

We have a big week ahead of us with exhibition in full swing and sports day on Friday! 

Today your child found out their exhibition groups. We want to ensure parents that these groups are a base and students will do their own individual research and be assessed individually. The announcement of the groups may be a stress for some students, and this reminder may help them in understanding if it is spoken about at home. 


SPORTS DAY REMINDERS 

Friday 22 September 9am to 2pm

·         Venue:   Gawler Sport and Community Centre

·         Arrival:  Students are to arrive between 8.30am to 9am.

·         Conclusion:  The day will finish at 2pm.  Students can go home early with their parent(s)

·         Bus:   If your child needs the school bus from school to the venue in the morning or the school bus from the venue back to school at the end of the day please ensure you have responded to the e-form advising such.  

·         What to wear:   Sports Team coloured T-shirt with sports shorts, hat, sunscreen.

·         Sausage sizzle:   Students wanting a sausage need to bring $2.50 / sausage and give the money directly to their classroom teacher by start of day Wednesday 20/9/23.     Sausages will be served to students during their lunch break time.  

·         Sausage sizzle $2.50 / Bacon n Egg Sandwiches $5, Cold drinks $2 on sale to parents.  Our Carers group are seeking some volunteers to come and lend a hand on the BBQ too. 

·        Coffee van will be onsite too. 

Colour Splatacular Run for Fun Day

·         This will be held at the conclusion of Sports Day (1-2pm).   

·         Students to bring a white t-shirt to wear (plus a towel to go home with). 

·         As children complete laps of an obstacle course, they will have the option of being splatted with coloured powder and slime on their t-shirts by staff and parent helpers.

Fundraising for the Colour Splatacular is through www.plantadifference.com.au.  You have until this Friday to fundraise.   Proceeds will go towards building the new vegetable garden at the front of the school. 


Next Monday, students must wear sport uniform as we have a tennis clinic

2023 Town of Gawler Christmas Card Competition for F to Yr 6 students

  • Design a Christmas Card for the Mayor to use this year!  
  • Closes Friday 22 September 2023
  • Submit your entry direct to Gawler Council office by Fri 22 Sept or drop them into Immanuel School office by Thurs 21 Sept.

·         Weds 27 Sept – The Lion King at Shedley Theatre Elizabeth (Yr 1,2,4 attending).  Please reply to the Operoo e-form for consent.  

·         Thurs 28 Sept - The Lion King at Shedley Theatre Elizabeth (F,3,6 attending).  Please reply to the Operoo e-form for consent.  

·         Thurs 28 Sept - SAPSASA Footy Carnival (for selected Yr 5/6’s as per Operoo request via Mr Cochrane) 

·         Fri 29 Sept - End Term 3, normal dismissal time 3.25pm

·         Fri 29 Sept – Favourite sporting colours as a casual dress day

Graduation is a week and a half away, so I pose this question to you… what type of graduation parent do you think you’ll be this year? Monday Memos Week 9 Term 4

Here we are, a couple days left. It would be interesting to know how all the students are feeling. I do know that some can’t wait to move on and some don’t want to leave. As always, many are probably feeling a little bit from column A and column B.  Reports Reports to go out tomorrow.  Pizza Lunch Tomorrow Tomorrow, as a gift to the students, Tayla and I have organised a pizza lunch for students. We hope they enjoy! Graduation Evening Please see your invite for the details of time. The evening will commence with the graduation ceremony and will lead into an evening of enjoying each other’s company one last time as a group.  So that things run smoothly, we ask that you arrive on time. Monday Memos Week 7 Term 4

Creeping closer and closer to the end of the year, but the work doesn’t stop…  Academics   The big ticket item in class right now is responding to the Ted Hughes novel The Iron Man. The Playberry literacy routines will continue through to the end of the year and in maths we are currently playing around with algebra and problem solving.  End of Year Guff As a part of the student graduation, we are after a photo of each child from when they commenced school (Foundation). If your child commenced at a different school, we would love it if you could email us a digital copy so we can add it to the presentation.  For the graduation evening, it is expected that students are wearing formal summer uniform.
