Week 4 Term 2 Monday Memos

Well, another week goes by and we continue to strive to learn and develop as human beings. Today, it was great to see students having their Government Games taking shape and with some even completed. This was a task that many students were not use to, so it took some time for students to get their head around it. Here's some key points for the week...

Spelling
Both groups are looking at List 13 from their appropriate set lists.

Assembly
We presented assembly this week with a movie sharing a bit of what has happened in the Senior Unit. It is too big a file to upload to this blog, so we will endeavour to attach a link via email.

Behaviour
It has been a ratty start back to the term (slightly expected given the randomness of the last 8 weeks), but it is now time for students to knuckle down. There has been a little resistance to this and so we would love for parents to chat to, encourage and remind students the purpose of school, learning and showing respect.

Whole School Info

We are now back to all onsite class lessons.

  • If you child is absent on a day please let the office know via phone or email or email your class teacher with details.
  • We continue to ask that parents do not go into classrooms in the mornings/afternoons and simply drop students and leave / collect students at the end of the day and head home.

Punctuality

  • Just a reminder that the school day begins at 8.50am.  Students who arrive after this time need to be signed in at the front office.
  • The school day ends at 3.25pm.  If you need to pick up early a note to your teacher in the morning is really helpful.   Please report to the school office first and sign your child out whilst your child is called to the office.
  • We will be updating the sign in / out procedure soon, so please stay tuned.

Assembly T2 W4

  • Today the Year 6’s presented Assembly via an online i-movie.  We hope students liked it.

2021 Sibling enrolments

  • Just a reminder that if you have a sibling due to start in 2021 and have not yet submitted their enrolment form, please contact Jenny in the office to start this process.   We are processing applications for new families to start 2021 and 2022 so if you know of someone with an interest in our school, please tell them to contact us.

Library Books

  • There is still no borrowing at the moment.   We will review this accordingly.

Rhythm Kids & Junior Youth

  • These 2 group sessions are still postponed until further notice.

Uniform

  • Term 2 is Winter formal uniform style (grey trousers and long sleeve shirt for boys / choice of white blouse & pinafore or skirt or the new navy blue slacks & white shirt for girls), along with sport uniform (summer/winter) on designated days.  F&Yr 1s only need sport.   If your child is not wearing the correct uniform on designated days, you need to send a note or email to the teacher.

iGOSH

  • Please remember to book online for the week ahead by 2pm on Friday.  If you book after this time you need to contact katrinap@ilsg.sa.edu.au  as bookings are finalised and attendance pages printed at 2pm each Friday (therefore your child will not show on their lists).   This late booking is charged at the casual rate, whilst the online early booking is charged at a regular rate.
  • All children who arrive into iGOSH in the mornings are to sanitize their hands at the front desk before they enter the service. Please remind your child this routine each morning as you sign them in.  When children arrive into iGOSH in the afternoon, they all wash & sanitize their hands after they have signed in.
  • The next Vacation Care is for 3 weeks (Monday 29 June to Friday 17 July).  The program will be sent home via students and be available on the school website from Wednesday 3 June. Bookings will then be able to be made online until around 19th June.  We are still waiting to see if we can do excursions and incursions, otherwise the program will be just home days. Katrina will let you know more soon.  Accounts need to be below $500 to use the service for these holidays.

 LLL Student Banking Accounts

  • The LLL have extended their start of year promotion enabling all new Children’s Savings Accounts opened before 31 May will get $25 kick start.
