Week 8 Term 2 Monday memos
Good afternoon,
Spelling - List 17 for both groups
Graduation tops- We are off to a good start with receiving order forms, money and school t-shirts to be screen printed with the Class of 2020. We are planning to have them printed in the school holidays so keep sending them in. You have until the last day of term 2.
UOI- Explorer inquiry- Today student have received this inquiry.
Key Concepts: Form, Causation, Change, Perspective
Choose an historical figure who has made a discovery/s through exploration. Research and present your findings for the questions below. Presentation of your work is up to you.
Personal and political reasons for exploration (Causation)

2 weeks left of Term 2. Schools breaks up on Friday 26 June and has a 3
week holiday break, returning Monday 20 July
·
Semester
1 Reports will be emailed to parents on Monday 29 June (in place of the paper
copy). These have been modified in response to changes due to Corona
Virus issues

A
reminder that our school day starts at 8.50am, so if you child arrives after
that time they are considered late and need to sign in the late register in the
front office
Valuing
Safe Communities (VSC) - Volunteer Training for parents / friends
·
Weds 17 June at 2.30pm or 6.30pm in the staffroom with Daryl (limited numbers).
·

·
We have revised the policy for VSC Training
where parents will need to attend their first VSC training
session face to face with the Principal and then renew the training every 3
years via an online session. Please contact Jenny for the
details on how to renew online.
Working
with Children Checks (WWCC)
·
National
Police Checks will not be valid after 30 June 2020. Many of
our school parents / volunteers still hold the NPC so to continue volunteering
on site at Immanuel please update your check to the WWCC. This is a
government requirement introduced 1 July 2019.
·
The
WWCC check can be initiated via emailing jennyj@ilsg.sa.edu.au
with your name and date of birth. It is free as a volunteer.
Volunteer
Badges
·
Once
you have the current Working with Children Check and Valuing Safe Communities
certificates you will be issued with an Immanuel School Volunteers badge and
will be eligible to assist on camps, excursions and on site activities with
students.
iGOSH
Vacation Care Program is open to all families for the 3 weeks of school holidays
(Monday 29
June to Friday 17 July)

Bookings close 5pm Wednesday 17 June
·
Confirmation
and consent forms will then be sent home Friday 19 June via students.

Uniform
·
Please
remember to name all school green jumpers and rugby tops, drink
bottles and lunch boxes. Then if something is lost we can easily return
it. There are so many in the office lost property box with no
names.

It
is important for your child to keep warm and wear their jumper (green or rugby)
on the cool winter mornings.

& Praise
·
Last
Friday T2 W7 – Andrew Tiller Yr 5 presented Worship and Praise “People of
Faith”. It is uploaded onto our website so families can view it

Bottle
and Can collection drive
·
Next
term Mr Cochrane is hoping to help raise money for Lutheran Community Care
(LCC) by cashing in 10c cans and bottles.
·
So
start collecting now! We’ll have a mini competition between
our school team colours to see who can collect the most. Stay tuned
for more info next term.
·
The
LCC helps provide much-needed services, (eg emergency food, emergency
accommodation, financial and personal counselling to local communities and
families, and this winter the demand is high).
