Monday Memos Week 5 Term 4

 This week is all about...

Wednesday is still the planned day for release. Due to the odd year we have had, our Exhhibit will be presented online. A link will be sent out on Wednesday so that you can see and engage in what the Year 6 students have inquired into.

Camp

One week to go. Later this week a 'What to bring' note will be sent via email. Students will also have access to a copy on their iPads.

Behaviours - can you please have a discussion with students about appropriate behaviours prior to camp. Camps are an enjoyable opportunity for students to have experiences outside the school grounds. With this in mind, it is important that the school feels confident and comfortable in taking students out of the school site, knowing that they will follow instructions and meet behaviour expectations.  Due to some recent behaviour trends, we feel it is important that students were made aware of this and that if the school is not satisfied by behaviours, students will be sent home from camp or asked not to attend. This discussion has been had with all students present at school today.

Year 6 Exhibition

  • Due to COVID-19 this year restrictions Year 6 students have prepared their Exhibition for presentation online
  • Links for sharing the Exhibition with our school community will be available this week

Worship and Praise on Friday 13 November starts at 9.30am

The iGOSH Dec / Jan Holiday program will be sent home to all families at the end of this week. 

·        Bookings can me made via the online booking system from Fri 13 Nov 5pm up till Mon 30 Nov at 10am.

·        Igosh will be open from Thurs 10 Dec through to Fri 18 Dec 2020; closed for Christmas and New Year; reopens Mon 4 Jan through to Mon 25 Jan 2021.

  • These are going home today.  Orders due in by Friday 20 November to allow delivery before end of the year.

  • Jumpy castle, face painting, food and drinks, Christmas Carols
  • A Family event organised by Gawler Lutheran Church and Immanuel School.  All welcome
  • A pre booking system for food and drinks will be sent home soon

End of 2020 Year Arrangements

  • Semester 2 reports will be sent home in week 8, along with class lists for 2021.
  • Move up day will be held on Monday 7 December.  Students will meet their 2021 teacher and spend some time in their new classroom. 
    Bookpacks for 2021 will be sent home too.
  • Our last school day for 2020 is Wednesday 9 December
  • The End of Year and Graduation Service will be held that day.  However due to Covid regulations still in place at this stage we cannot yet advise if parents will be able to attend
  • Celebration Evening for Yr 6’s will be on the Thursday evening 10 December 
  • iGOSH will start the school holiday program from Thursday 10 December

Graduation is a week and a half away, so I pose this question to you… what type of graduation parent do you think you’ll be this year? Monday Memos Week 9 Term 4

Here we are, a couple days left. It would be interesting to know how all the students are feeling. I do know that some can’t wait to move on and some don’t want to leave. As always, many are probably feeling a little bit from column A and column B.  Reports Reports to go out tomorrow.  Pizza Lunch Tomorrow Tomorrow, as a gift to the students, Tayla and I have organised a pizza lunch for students. Monday Memos Week 7 Term 4

Creeping closer and closer to the end of the year, but the work doesn’t stop…  Academics   The big ticket item in class right now is responding to the Ted Hughes novel The Iron Man. The Playberry literacy routines will continue through to the end of the year and in maths we are currently playing around with algebra and problem solving.  End of Year Guff As a part of the student graduation, we are after a photo of each child from when they commenced school (Foundation). If your child commenced at a different school, we would love it if you could email us a digital copy so we can add it to the presentation.  For the graduation evening, it is expected that students are wearing formal summer uniform.
