Week 3 Term 1 Memos

Routines are starting to take shape and we have begun to add more meat on the bones of our day to day. Some key things we would like to point out this week are: Spelling : This week we are looking at the prefix of ‘di’, ‘du’ and ‘bi’. This prefix gives the meaning of 2. Examples:  “di” - diverge “du” - duet “bi” - bicycle IT Agreements : these will be discussed this week in class. We ask that you also read through them with your child, so that you can return them ASAP. Once returned, students will receive their iPads so they can have full access. This will include them bringing them to and from school so that they can be recharged overnight as needed. Unit of Inquiry: we are fully into the flow of our current unit in Who We Are. Monday Memos Week 8 Term 3

Third last week of the term and still plenty to do. We continue to power on and keep fighting the good fight. Here is a bit of info to keep you in the know… Spelling - List 26 Group 1: schwa ‘ure’ (lecture, puncture) Group 2: ‘ie’ for long ‘ee’ (field, audience) Mobile Phone Policy  Please see previous email and if you need a hard copy of the form and policy please email us. Uniform Checks There has been an increase in students not wearing the appropriate uniform as the year has progressed and it needs addressing. Other than a few students not wearing the correct uniforms on the correct days, the main culprits are hair ties, earrings, socks, appropriate shoes and wearing bracelets/anklets. Please help your child maintain the correct uniform and if there is a plausible reason for not being in uniform, a note signed by the parent is needed. Monday Memos Week 3 Term 3

The big news item is that second semester Learning Conferences are knocking. So this week, please be on the look out for an email with the booking procedure and link attached. You will notice that when you book in for Year 6 there will be two possible lists to book into. It is important that you only book into one of those lists. This is so we can fit as many people in as possible into the time slots available. The time slots are not allotted to a particular teacher but one of either Miss Yon or myself will attend the conference.  UOI   Students have been very creative with their presentations. This is great to see as we head towards the Year 6 Exhibition process in the second half of the term. If you are unaware of what the PYP Exhibition is, it is the culmination of the students PYP journey where they showcase their skills and abilities by driving their own inquiry.
