Welcome to another week. The important information this week is about bike Ed as we prepare for engagement next week on the Thursday. Please read below for the key information.

Bike Ed

Dates:

Thursdays the 26 May, 2, 9 and 23 June

Bike Drop Off:

For bikes to be actively involved in the program, they first need to go through a bike check. A team from the RAA will be here on the morning of the first day to give all bikes a check and some basic maintenance. Please have your child’s bike here that morning by 8:30am up at the top Carpark by the courts. If that time doesn’t suit you, we will happily receive bikes prior to that date and lock them away.

While it would be great for students to bring their bikes to and from school for each session, we understand that this is extremely difficult for many. So, if bikes need to be left at school for the duration of the program, they will be locked away on the school site.

We have been involved in this program for many years and it is a highlight for many students so hopefully the weather is perfect on our allotted days.

Whole School Updates

NAPLAN Testing

  • Naplan testing for year 3 and 5 students continues this week through to Friday 20 May.
  • Testing will take place in the mornings so it will be important for students to be at school on time to minimise disruption and allow them time to settle before commencing tests.
  • Testing will take place online so it will be important for students in Year 5 to bring their iPads to school fully charged.

Parent Volunteers -  Valuing Safe Communities’ (VSC) training

  • Wednesday 18 May 2022 at 2.30pm or at 6.30pm with Daryl Trigg.
    (Please RSVP by emailing jennyj@ilsg.sa.edu.au)
  • We really appreciate parents and caregivers helping at Immanuel, however people who volunteer in a school need to have their VSC updated every 3 years.

A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is also a requirement, and can be obtained by contacting Jenny in the office. There is no charge if you are volunteering in a school.  This check needs updating every 5 years.

More info can be found at https://screening.sa.gov.au/

  • Any person volunteering in a school also needs to be double vaccinated.
  • If you will have an interest to attend an excursion, camp or help in the SAKGP (garden, kitchen), as an Immanuel Sports Team Coach or in a classroom this year, please ensure you have the above paperwork in place.
