Monday Memos Week 5 Term 2

We head into hump week and there is plenty going on. It’s great to see Mrs Eckermann back after her little break.

Walk to Taikondi

As a part of our Maths and Christian Studies, we are heading on a local walk (weather permitting) to Taikondi tomorrow between recess and lunch. Students are to wear sports uniform for this little excursion. If students want to pack a wet weather jacket tomorrow they can. (Might be worth naming it)

In heading down there by foot, we will be testing our speed and measurement calculations that we have been carrying out in class. We will also talk about spirituality and how nature and location is important to the Kaurna people but also to many others. We will also have a cheeky snag in bread while we are down there. Fingers crossed for this little outing.

Bike Ed

Day 1 last Thursday went really well with a few riders experiencing some fantastic development in their riding skills. There has been a slight change in the timetabling though as the expected 4 day program has now been condensed into 3 days. This means we ask that students take their bikes home on the 9th June or shortly after that date.

Spelling - List 14

Group 1 - ‘cc’ for a ‘k’ sound (hiccup, accompany, occur)

Group 2 - ‘qu’ (quiver, liquid, aquarium)

Whole School Updates

Secondary School

·         We would like to remind families that closing dates for Secondary School applications are fast approaching.

·         If you haven’t made contact it’s our recommendation that you do it ASAP, especially if you have a child in Year 5 (or year 4).   Leaving it to the last minute or missing the closing date can lead to disappointment and frustration as places fill.

Immanuel Cabaret Night

  • Our annual School Cabaret Night is scheduled for Friday 17 June, starting at 6.30pm.
  • This is a celebration of music and dance from our talented students, staff and some special guests, who will perform on stage to an audience in a relaxed cabaret style.
  • Cabaret tickets will go on sale w/c 6/6/22 .  Entry will be free, with BYO Supper and drinks for sale.
  • Put this date in your diary and stay tuned!

Open Day

  • Tuesday 31 May at 9.30am

This is for new families wanting a tour of Immanuel School.

  • Reconciliation week began last Friday 27th May and will run until the 3rd June.
  • Students will participate in School, class and group based activities throughout the week.
