Monday Memos on Tuesday Week 7 Term 2

The Senior Unit is looking a bit different this week with Mr Semmler out and Mrs Eckermann and Mrs Biagi at the helm. We thank Annabelle for her willingness to join us during this time. 

Street Food Evening

Still to come this term is the ‘Street Food’ Evening where we will celebrate the Kitchen/ Garden program. 

Mark your calendar for the evening of Thursday,June 30th where stalls will be set up around the Warrinthi area and students will showcase their country of choice through food and cultural presentations. 

Each student will be able to invite 2 guests. (This number is due to catering and size of the area available.) The evening will begin at 6pm. (More details will be explained next Monday.)

Bike Ed

It’s been great to see the students enjoying the Bike Ed lessons. Just a reminder to pick up the last few bikes this week if possible.

Immanuel Cabaret Night 

  • School Cabaret Night is this Friday 17 June, starting at 6.30pm at Immanuel in Taikondi.  Click here for the flyer.  
  • Entry is free but you must register to attend as there are limited attendance numbers.  Please register via www.schoolinterviews.com.au with code kb2nn.  Please register by end of day Weds 15/6, so that we can cater seating and drinks accordingly.   
  • BYO supper and assorted drinks will be on sale.
  • This is a celebration of music and dance from our talented students, staff and some special guests, who will perform on stage to an audience in a relaxed cabaret style.

Absentees

  • If your child is absent from school please remember to ring the school office on the absentee line 85225740 Option 2 (before 9.30am) or email your teacher or an office staff member with some details.  

 

Secondary School

·         We would like to remind families that closing dates for Secondary School applications are fast approaching.

·         If you haven’t made contact it’s our recommendation that you do it ASAP, especially if you have a child in Year 5 (or year 4).   Leaving it to the last minute or missing the closing date can lead to disappointment and frustration as places fill. 

 

Uniform

  • With the cold mornings please ensure your child/ren have their jumper / rugby tops with them.  Please ensure they are clearly named.
  • We are experiencing delays in receiving school uniform items from our suppliers (eg trackpants and jackets).  We apologise for this inconvenience and hope to have stock arrive by the start of term 3.  

 

iGOSH

July Vac Care

  • The mid year school holidays start Monday 4 July to Fri 22 July (3 weeks).  iGOSH is open and the holiday program was sent home last week and is attached here.  Bookings can be made online www.carebookings.com.au up until Thurs 23/6.  Some days are capped so get in quick.  

Term 2 Bookings

  • If you need before or after school care during term 2 please book in via www.carebookings.com.au. Reminder that bookings close 2pm each Friday for the week ahead. Any bookings after this need to be emailed, texted or phoned to Katrina. Bookings before 2pm Friday are permanent bookings and after that are casual bookings, charged at the casual rate.

Covid Reminders

  • Masks are now optional when dropping off and collecting your children. Please still wait outside for your children and avoid entering our rooms

 

Covid Update

Covid regulations and requirements in schools for the start of this term are very similar to the end of last term.    

Families are requested to:

  • Not enter classrooms
  • Inform us should your child/children test positive
  • Inform us should your child/children be a close contact and RAT test as per SA Health guidelines
  • Not come on site if symptomatic
  • Masks are strongly recommended (but not required) for all adults (including visitors) while indoors, except when teaching or interacting with children and strongly recommended (but not required) for students in years 3 to 12 while indoors.

Graduation is a week and a half away, so I pose this question to you… what type of graduation parent do you think you’ll be this year? Monday Memos Week 9 Term 4

Here we are, a couple days left. It would be interesting to know how all the students are feeling. I do know that some can’t wait to move on and some don’t want to leave. As always, many are probably feeling a little bit from column A and column B.  Reports Reports to go out tomorrow.  Pizza Lunch Tomorrow Tomorrow, as a gift to the students, Tayla and I have organised a pizza lunch for students. Monday Memos Week 7 Term 4

Creeping closer and closer to the end of the year, but the work doesn’t stop…  Academics   The big ticket item in class right now is responding to the Ted Hughes novel The Iron Man. The Playberry literacy routines will continue through to the end of the year and in maths we are currently playing around with algebra and problem solving.  End of Year Guff As a part of the student graduation, we are after a photo of each child from when they commenced school (Foundation). If your child commenced at a different school, we would love it if you could email us a digital copy so we can add it to the presentation.  For the graduation evening, it is expected that students are wearing formal summer uniform.
