2022 Exhibition

Wednesday Nov 9.   6.15-8pm

We are looking forward to sharing the Year 6 Exhibits with the parent community this Wednesday evening from 6.15 onwards in the ground floor of the Warrinthi Building. 

There will be a free sausage sizzle outside the bottom level of the Warrinthi building and drinks will be available for adults and not to be shared with students.

Please inform the teachers if your child is unable to attend.

We look forward to an informative night!


No spelling homework this week. Mathletics 1000 points is still the weekly goal!



Whole School Updates

  • Today our Year 4s have headed off on camp, returning Weds.  We wish them well.
  • Our Year 6’s will hold their Exhibition on Wednesday eveningshowcasing their Unit of Inquiry “Sharing the Planet” to their parents.   
  • We have 3 Open Days coming up (Thurs 10 Nov 9.30amSun 13 Nov 3.00pmTues 15 Nov 9.30am).  If you have any friends with children interested in visiting Immanuel, please share these details.
  • Thank you to those who helped at Saturday’s Gawler Village Fair.  The year 5’s contribution of biscuits, dukkha and plants were very popular.  

 

Official Opening of Tanta Marta (Year 2/3 Building) & Warrinthi (Year 5/6 building), plus a fun afternoon & evening of activities:  

We welcome all our school students and their families to attend this event.  

Friday 18 November 2022 between 2.15pm to 8.00pm

Schedule: 

2.15pm     Worship & Praise and Opening Service in Taikondi

3.25pm     Dismissal of students (iGOSH open as normal)

4.30pm     (Note revised start time)
Lots of activities for students to take part in eg Jumping Castle, Orbit 360 Ride, Face Painting, Class Led Activities, plus tours of the new buildings for parents.   

6.00pm      Food stalls open for dinner (pizza, BBQ, donuts, popcorn & drinks).  
(EFTPOS available at the drink stand, please bring some 
cash for the food and snacks).  
Entertainment, music, activities and family fun

8.00pm      Conclusion

Please RSVP your attendance to the Worship & Praise service, the afternoon / evening events and what food you anticipate to purchase by Tuesday 15/11/22.  This will assist us setting up Taikondi and helping with food catering quantities.  (NB its not a actual food order, only an indication.) 

 

School Photos 

  • Student and family photos have arrived and will be sorted and sent home with students this week.   

 

Remembrance Day Friday 11/11

  • A few years ago our students walked down to Pioneer Park (corner Lyndoch and Union St) and joined in the service there.  We hope to do this again this Friday 11/11/22 arriving there at 10.40am and returning back to school by 11.15am.  There will be a fly over of RAAF planes at 11.04am.
  • This will replace our onsite Worship & Praise service at 10.30am.  

 

Volunteers for 2023 

Second Hand Uniform Stall 

  • We are seeking another parent volunteer to help open the Second Hand Uniform shop this term and into 2023.  Please let the school office know if you are able to help with this. 

Lyndoch Road Traffic Monitors (Adults) 

  • This is an important role, assisting our students cross the busy Lyndoch Road in the morning or afternoon.  Please start thinking if you can help with this in 2023, and if so please let Daryl or Jenny know.  

 

iGOSH

Term 4

  • Bookings are open online.
  • Reminder that bookings are printed 2pm Fridays for the week ahead. If booking are made by this cut off time they are charged at the permanent rate. All bookings wanted after this cut off time, need to be emailed / texted to Katrina and will be charged at the casual rate.

Question of the week

  • Thanks to parents who are answering our questions of the week that are on our front desk. Your feedback is greatly appreciated as we reflect on our current practices and look for better ways to do things

Big Vac Care

  • The Dec/January Holiday Program will be out in Week 5 and Bookings will open Friday 18/11 at 5pm. Our Vac Care is Thursday 15th to Thursday 22nd December and Monday 9th January to Friday 27 January 2023.

Homework at iGOSH

  • We are happy to support children who need to do their homework at iGOSH. We allocate ½ hour from 3.40pm to 4.10pm as a homework time. If you would like your child to do homework please add their name to our list on front desk. You will need to add your child each week or if you would like them to do it for the rest of the term, please email Katrina.

Operoo at iGOSH

·         Thanks for filling in the Operoo forms regarding updates for collection authority at iGOSH.

·         iGOSH will begin using Operoo for their Big Vac Care consent forms. More information to follow next week.
