Monday Memos Week 3 2023

Thankyou for responding to the call for intention to participate in Canberra Camp. It will help greatly to continue the camp planning.
Year 6 have the opportunity to do a fund raiser for Canberra by making pizzas at the Immanuel Extravaganza upcoming on March 4.
Keeping Safe Lesson
Today’s lesson was to explore the idea of What safe looks like, feels like and sounds like to individuals and that it may mean different things depending on experiences.
IT Agreements
There are some IT agreements that have not been returned. Please attend to your Operoo forms as soon as possible.
Spelling
Looking at words with the prefix meaning of three: tri - trilogy, tricorn, triathlon
Important to not that we are still working on a couple new aspects in our Year 6 spelling program, ie morphology. With this in mind we are still teaching students how to do this and refining our expectations on it. While this is happening our only expectation with morphology is that they give it a go for 3-5 of their words per week. (If they choose to do more, they are welcome to)
Mathletics
Throughout last week, multiple students in our class finished not only in the top 100 students lists for Australia, but also in the WORLD. There have been some fantastic efforts. With many students pitching in it has also meant that last week, our class finished 10th in Australia and 27th in the World. Given that there are over 2300 schools in Australia and over 14000 schools in the world that subscribe to Mathletics, that is a huge milestone. Well done everyone.

· If you are using the car park in School Lane (or along School Lane) make sure you head out up to East Terrace through the school house yard driveway.
· You can not head back down School Lane towards Daly Street from the top car parks. (There is a sign there that says ‘STOP’)

Operoo – Reminders
- Operoo is an online App to manage excursions, camps, consent forms and other events. It is helpful to download the Operoo APP to your Phone in order to access the Operoo system easily and quickly. We are using Operoo as a paperless method of sharing information and parents/caregivers giving their consent.
- Please ensure sure all of your childs medical details and action plans are uploaded into Operoo and kept up to date as this system is used on school camps and excursions.

iGOSH
Bags / Signing in
- A reminder that iGOSH children in the mornings need to hang their bags in the iGOSH area. Please don’t walk around the school and hang your bags near classrooms. We also require all children to be sighted on arrival in the mornings. Your help with this is appreciated.
Homework
- We offer Homework time from 3.45 to 4.15pm each afternoon. This is supervised by iGOSH staff. If you would like your child to be reminded and encouraged to do their homework during this time, please record their name and days required on the list at the iGOSH front desk. We will then remind children to do their homework, if they choose not to then we will let you know. Please have the conversations at home if you would like your children to do homework while at iGOSH.
Term 1 Bookings
- Bookings close 2pm each Friday for the week ahead
- Any bookings needed after this need to be emailed / text / phone call to Katrina. Please don’t make the bookings for the week of on carebookings as we won’t have them in our booking folder, which we download and print at 2pm each Friday.
Updates
- All families would have received information via Seesaw about our Star Helpers System and Observations. We look forward to sharing these with you.
