Monday Memos Week 3 Term 3

The big news item is that second semester Learning Conferences are knocking. So this week, please be on the look out for an email with the booking procedure and link attached. You will notice that when you book in for Year 6 there will be two possible lists to book into. It is important that you only book into one of those lists. This is so we can fit as many people in as possible into the time slots available. The time slots are not allotted to a particular teacher but one of either Miss Yon or myself will attend the conference.

UOI

Students have been very creative with their presentations. This is great to see as we head towards the Year 6 Exhibition process in the second half of the term. If you are unaware of what the PYP Exhibition is, it is the culmination of the students PYP journey where they showcase their skills and abilities by driving their own inquiry. More information will come out towards the middle of the term.

Maths

Please remind/encourage students to get 1000 points per week.

Also, we would ask that if your child struggles with Times Tables fluency, it would be fantastic if they can be supported at home to improve before heading to secondary school.

Concert

We ask that you start thinking about costumes. Keep an eye out for guidelines coming soon, but in the meantime, think Aladdin and those wonder Arabian Nights.

Changes to Planning and Documenting

  • There have been some changes to the Frameworks we use for planning as well as the way we are required to document child involvement in the activities that we plan. The change is moving away from individual OBs / documentation and moving to more group OBs and sharing of what children do. Over this term you will start to see these changes as we continue to share OBs via Seesaw. There is also a focus on Wellbeing. At iGOSH we are introducing walks and yoga into our morning routine. This week we will trial the morning walks (within the school grounds) and yoga. We hope to share this with you this week.
