Monday Memos Week 9 Term 4

Here we are, a couple days left. It would be interesting to know how all the students are feeling. I do know that some can’t wait to move on and some don’t want to leave. As always, many are probably feeling a little bit from column A and column B.

Pizza Lunch Tomorrow

Tomorrow, as a gift to the students, Tayla and I have organised a pizza lunch for students. We hope they enjoy!

Graduation Evening

Please see your invite for the details of time. The evening will commence with the graduation ceremony and will lead into an evening of enjoying each other’s company one last time as a group. 

So that things run smoothly, we ask that you arrive on time.

Uniform

The next two school days we are wearing sport uniform so that our formal uniforms are clean and tidy for the graduation ceremony and evening. In terms of formal uniform for the graduation ceremony, if you find that your child has out grown or needs a part of the uniform, let us know and we will organise a loan clothing item for the evening.

Thank you for those people who sent in Foundation photos for those students who started at a different school. If your child didn’t start at Immanuel, and you haven’t sent in a photo, we would appreciate it if you could send one in please. 

Signing stuff

Students love mementoes and this group is no different. They have been told that if they want things signed that the graduation evening is the time for that. 


Whole School Info Term 4 Week 9 2023

 

Another year has passed on quickly again.  We thank you for your support and encouragement of our school during 2023.

We wish you all every blessing for the festive season and a safe and happy holiday break. 

 

Last day of School is Wed 13 Dec 2023

  • The Closing Worship and Praise Service (which includes a farewell to our year 6 students) will be held at 2.00pm in Taikondi. Parents, families and friends are welcome to attend too.  We will video and email all families a copy of the service too.  We will also reserve some seats near the front for parents of year 6 students. 
  • Students will return to their class following the service and then will bedismissed at 3.25pm. 
  • The Year 6 Graduation and Celebration event will be on the Thursday 14 December starting at 6.30pm for year 6 students and their parents only.  
  • The Zion Preschool will be hold their end of year services here in Taikondi on Tuesday and Wednesday evening this week

 

2024 Class Groupings

·         Today we held “Move Up” day which gave students the opportunity to meet their 2024 teacher and spend time in their new classroom and group.

·         Student Book packs were sent home.  Please read the note provided by your 2024 teacher, cover and label the books and return on the first day back in 2024. 

·         Student Semester 2 reports and 2024 class lists have been sent home in a sealed envelope addressed to parents.  Students have been told not to open these envelopes, they are to give to their parent for opening.      

·         PLP’s and music reports are also included in the envelope for those applicable students.    

·         Inspire 2023 Year Book (which is complimentary to each family) and our Final Newsletter for 2023 has been added too.

  • Fri 12 Jan -  Office open 8.30am to 4pm for payment of accounts (first instalment is due / early payment discount due date and School Uniform Shop open)
  • Tues 23 Jan and Weds 24 Jan - Office and School Uniform Shop Open 8.30am to 4pm

  • Mon 29 Jan - First day of school for 2024 8.50am start – 3.25pm finish
  • Tues 30 Jan - Parent Information Evening starts at 6.45pm for all classes

Reminders

  • The school office will close on Tuesday 19 December. 
  • 2024 Fee Invoices will be emailed to school families approx Weds 20 Dec 2023 from email address accounts@ilsg.sa.edu.au
  • Library Books - if you still have library books at home please return them ASAP
  • Uniform / Lost Property - there are still so many rugby jumpers, hats and lunch boxes etc in the lost property box in the office. Items not claimed this year will be sorted and if any are in good condition will be sold via the 2ndhand uniform shop next year.
  • 2025 Enrolments - if you have a sibling due to start in 2025, please ensure you have submitted the enrolment application form into the school office, so that we have your child’s name on our data base. 

 

Immanuel's Bus Service - 2024

  • Our bus service has been running for a couple of years now, and has become very popular with families which is terrific.

2024 is almost full already with those continuing on from 2023.  If we need to fill seats we will advertise accordingly.

Monday Memos Week 7 Term 4

Creeping closer and closer to the end of the year, but the work doesn’t stop…  Academics   The big ticket item in class right now is responding to the Ted Hughes novel The Iron Man. The Playberry literacy routines will continue through to the end of the year and in maths we are currently playing around with algebra and problem solving.  End of Year Guff As a part of the student graduation, we are after a photo of each child from when they commenced school (Foundation). If your child commenced at a different school, we would love it if you could email us a digital copy so we can add it to the presentation.  For the graduation evening, it is expected that students are wearing formal summer uniform.
