You can pretty much smell the end of the year. its just that close.Here is a couple things you should know...

iPads - next steps

This Friday, the student iPads will need to be left at school so that they can be prepared for the following year (be it wiped clean for student purchase or setup for future use as a shared device). A letter should of been received today as to the exact process that will take place.

If there are any photos or files on the iPads that the students would like to make sure they keep, we would encourage them to Airdrop, download or email themselves those files while at home over the next couple nights.

Year 6 Celebration - 

With the current impacts and regulations in place due to Covid19, events to celebrate the graduating students will be restricted to the End of Year Service. The plan at the moment,
is that there will be 2 seats available per graduating student for parents to reserve through online registration. More information will come out shortly.

Whole School Info

Covid reminders:

  • Parents and Caregivers are still allowed on the school grounds but should not be entering classrooms
  • Social distancing on school grounds is still a SA Health requirement and we ask that you are especially mindful of this in enclosed spaces at busy times such as the start and end of the days
  • Upcoming events are based on the following principle “events based on social networking and have a ‘party’ type feel should not be going ahead.  Events that have a ‘performance’ type of function, so long as they follow the square meter rules and food rules (etc) can go ahead.”   At times there may seem to be inconsistencies, but we can assure all families that we will do our best to juggle the regulations and community expectations and the imperative of ensuring our community stays well with our total desire for kids to have the opportunities and experiences they would normally have.

Library Book Return

  • ALL library books must be returned to school by Friday 4 December

Worship and Praise Friday 4 December starts at 9.30am

  • Mrs Roberts Year 1 class will be presenting
  • Parents and friends are welcome to join us at Worship and Praise, however you must register to attend via the online booking system www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the code djfnv

(Numbers are limited and the registration process will enable us to keep an attendance record for our Covid safe practices)

Christmas in Coming

  • Friday 4 Dec 6.00pm to 8.00pm at Immanuel School Gawler.  An evening enjoying Christmas Carols on the oval
  • Due to recent Covid restrictions we have made some changes to the original plans  (that is no food or drink provided)

    This will enable us to ascertain a guide to the number of people wanting to attend so that we can plan a Covid safe event. 
  • Bring your own chairs / picnic blankets plus your choice of drinks and nibbles.   Wear your Santa Hat and tinsel too!

Wellbeing and Circle Time

Transition visits for 2021 foundations

  • These start tomorrow:  Tues 1 Dec, Thurs 3 Dec and Mon 7 Dec – all starting at 11.45am to 1.30pm

Semester 2 Reports and Class Lists for 2021

  • These will be sent home with students on Thurs 3 Dec in a sealed envelope along with PLP’s and music tuition reports.  Please refrain from opening at school

Move up day will be held on Monday 7 December. 

  • Students will meet their 2021 teacher and spend some time in their new classroom. 
  • Bookpacks for 2021 will be sent home too

2021 School Fees

  • The 2021 Fee Agreement is due to be returned to the school office by Wednesday 2/12/20 - Attention Business Manager 

Rhythm Kids

  • Mr Hueppauff has now finished sessions for 2020.  It will be back again in 2021

iGOSH

  • iGOSH Dec / Jan Holiday Bookings can be made up until Mon 30 Nov at 4pm  (we’ve extended this time)
    • Late bookings for holiday time can be made however you will need to contact Katrina direct, there will be a late booking fee and positions will depend on vacancies for the day.
    • Consent and confirmation letters will go home and need to be signed and returned by Weds 9 Dec.
    • Accounts need to be under $500 to access the holiday program and the previous holiday fees paid in full
  • Bookings for 2021 Term 1 can now be made online too.    Term 1 2021 starts Wednesday 27 Jan 2021
  • Hats are compulsory for all outside play at iGOSH and the school holidays. We encourage children to have a school hat that they can leave at iGOSH to use whenever they attend. These are available to purchase at iGOSH

Last school day for 2020 is Wednesday 9 December

  • At 2pm the formal End of Year and Graduation Service will be held in Taikondi.    This is the school’s end of year Worship and Praise, plus the year 6 students will be acknowledged and farewelled in front of the whole school 
  • All students will be involved in some way
  • Students and are to wear their formal summer school uniform  (except for foundation and year 1 students who will wear sports uniform)
  • Unfortunately this year due to Covid we can only allow a limited number of parents / caregivers. The details of this we will need to leave until after tomorrow’s Covid updates.   Never the less, we will film the service and share the link with all families.  
  • Students will return to their class following the service and then will be dismissed at 3.25pm

  • Fri 15 Jan -  Office open 9am to 4pm for payment of accounts (first instalment is due / early payment discount due date and School Uniform Shop open 
  • Tues 19 & Thurs 21 Jan - Office and  School Uniform Shop Open 9am to 4pm
  • Weds 27 Jan - First day of school for 2021
  • Thurs 28 Jan - Parent Information Evening starts at 6.45pm for all classes

Graduation is a week and a half away, so I pose this question to you… what type of graduation parent do you think you’ll be this year? Monday Memos Week 9 Term 4

Here we are, a couple days left. It would be interesting to know how all the students are feeling. I do know that some can’t wait to move on and some don’t want to leave. As always, many are probably feeling a little bit from column A and column B.  Reports Reports to go out tomorrow.  Pizza Lunch Tomorrow Tomorrow, as a gift to the students, Tayla and I have organised a pizza lunch for students. Monday Memos Week 7 Term 4

Creeping closer and closer to the end of the year, but the work doesn’t stop…  Academics   The big ticket item in class right now is responding to the Ted Hughes novel The Iron Man. The Playberry literacy routines will continue through to the end of the year and in maths we are currently playing around with algebra and problem solving.  End of Year Guff As a part of the student graduation, we are after a photo of each child from when they commenced school (Foundation). If your child commenced at a different school, we would love it if you could email us a digital copy so we can add it to the presentation.  For the graduation evening, it is expected that students are wearing formal summer uniform.
