Monday Memos Week 1 Term 4

It’s not too early to shed a tear. For some of you, it’s your first child going of to high school, for some of you it’s your last. Either way, it’s moments like these that make you feel old.

Moving right along…

Exhibition

As we enter the last term, this will increasingly become our focus over the next four and a half weeks. Seeing we are are presenting online, our release date for the Exhibition 2021 Website will be Wednesday evening Week 5 (10th November).

A big pat on the back to those who went on inquiring during the break, I’m sure it was rewarding and will help your success in the Exhibition process.

Graduation

Graduation is set for the afternoon of Wednesday December the 8th (Week 9). This will be a part of the school’s End of Year Service. During that week, we are also planning a Graduate Night. The idea of this evening is to celebrate the students and families of the graduates, share a dinner and have a chance to be social.

Term 4 Week 1
Welcome to term 4.  We hope you had a wonderful holiday break.
Term 4 is a 9 week term and concludes Wednesday 8 December

COVID Requirements
  • We continue to ask that Parents / Caregivers are not on site any more than is necessary
  • Access to classrooms and other school buildings will remain limited to staff, students and essential services
  • Parents/caregivers when entering the school will need to wear a face mask and check in via the QR code or complete the hard copy sign-in sheet in the office
  • It remains essential that staff, students and others do not come on the school site if they are unwell and that they get tested for COVID-19
  • Parents are asked to pass on these school COVID requirements to other family members and friends who may be collecting your child

2022 Class Placement
  • At this time each year we ask for any input from families around class placement for 2022.  Generally this input will be around learning needs and information that will help us place students in class groups for maximum success. We ask that families refrain from ‘requesting teachers’ especially as teaching staff can change (due to either leaving our school or changing grades).
  • This year we ask parents to provide their input via logging onto www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the code we7ve.   This will enable all comments given to us in the one place.   Please provide any information by Tuesday 26 October
  • If you are not returning to Immanuel in 2022 (other than moving into a secondary school) please be reminded that a terms notice is required.

Extravaganza A Fun Family Day at Immanuel School
  • Saturday 16 October 3pm to 7pm
  • Bouncy castle, petting zoo, food trucks, face painting, dunk tank, live music and more.
  • There is a limit on the number of entry tickets so if you want to attend, please get in quick and register your family via www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the code 6upnd
  • Bring your cash or EFT cards to purchase food and drinks or have a go at the Dunk Tank.
  • All other fun is FREE!

P&F Meeting
  • Tonight Mon 11 Oct at 7pm in Library.  Discussions and planning around Extravaganza.  All welcome.

Amazing Me – “The Facts of Life”
  • Online presentation on Weds 20 Oct 6pm via Zoom for Parents and Children (Yr 4,5,6)
  • Presenter Rowena Thomas normally comes to us every second year to host this presentation, however due to Covid regulations this year she cannot travel between states, so the presentation will be held via ZOOM,  enabling parents and their children to watch the presentation in their own home.
  • The cost of the presentation is only $25 and bookings need to be made by Friday 15 October via the trybooking link:
  • Redeemer Lutheran School Nuriootpa held the online presentation last term and it was really well received with 52 families registering. The feedback they had was “families found it even better being able to do it in the comfort and privacy of their own home”.
  • We need a minimum number of bookings for this to go ahead so please consider registering your family for this.

Sports Day
  • We had a very successful day, thanks to everyone involved.
  • Congratulations to Clonlea (Red) who achieved the Roy Bell Cup and Para Para who achieved the Bob Fielke Spirit Award

iGOSH
We had an awesome vac care, we hope the children enjoyed it as much as the staff did!
  • There is a box near front desk at iGOSH of lost property. Please have a look in here if you have lost anything. Anything left here after Friday will be donated to a charity shop.
  • Invoices for the 2 weeks will be emailed Friday.  Your prompt payment is appreciated
  • We will have some photos on our wall soon, so you can have a look at all the fun things we did. We also have our Vac Care Day Book that you are most welcome to flick through too. This is near our front desk.
  • Over the next 2 weeks, iGOSH staff may ask you some questions about the vac care as you drop off or collect your children. This feedback helps with future programming. So if you could manage a few minutes to answer their questions, that would be great.
  • We have lots of observations to share with you on Seesaw from the holidays. Please check to see if your child has one. We hope you enjoy reading them. Please leave a comment as this also helps with future planning and programming at iGOSH.
Online Bookings for this week have closed. Please ring or email Katrina for bookings this week.
  • Please go online and book for future weeks. Bookings close 2pm each Friday for the week ahead.

W & P on Fridays / Assemblies Monday W4 & 8
  • Again in term 4 students will meet for these altogether in Taikondi, however parents/caregivers will not be able to attend (until further advised).    We will continue to record and email the links to these for families to view from home.

  • This refers to the formal uniform for students in Yr 2-6;  Summer Dress or Navy Skorts & Blouse for girls and Grey Shorts Short Sleeve Shirt for boys.

Policy Update
Extension of Sports Uniform from Fn to Year 3 students
  • From 2022 all students in F, 1 & 2 will wear the sports uniform
(ie the formal girls & boys uniform items will not be worn by year 2 students)
  • From 2023 all students in F, 1, 2 & 3 will wear the sports uniform
(ie the formal girls & boys uniform items will not be worn by year 2 or year 3 students)
The rationale behind this is that the junior primary students need the flexibility that the sports uniform brings, and the upper primary students will benefit from have the contextual variation of formal and sport uniform for various events and formal functions
